After concerns were raised by civil society groups, the IFC delayed their vote on a proposed US $32 million dollar loan for Alvoar Lacteos, one of Brazil’s largest dairy firms. The objections were raised over environmental issues, including deforestation, as well as human and animal rigths concerns. The coalition of CSOs was successful in postponing the vote on the loan for now.
