Partner Response Letter to IFC: Friesland Campina, Pakistan (Aug 2023)

This response from S3F partners came on the heels of another letter to IFC addressing concerns about funding to Dutch multinational dairy giant Friesland Campina (Project 47498/RSE FC Engro). In this letter they reiterate concerns about the project’s alignment with sustainability goals, climate change mitigation, and animal welfare. 

Friesland Campina’s operations may contribute to higher greenhouse gas emissions and biodiversity loss, conflicting with global environmental targets. Another point in question is the rationale (and level of transparency) behind providing financial support to a large, profitable multinational corporation rather than smaller, local farmers in need.
